In a world where opportunities are not always equal, empowering young girls from disadvantaged backgrounds becomes not just a noble cause but a necessity.
Our recent project funded by the Community Fund aimed to do just that – inspire and empower girls aged 11–18 from the minority communities to become future leaders.
Over the course of three transformative months, we embarked on a journey of personal growth, mentorship, and empowerment.
From the outset, our objectives were clear: to build confidence, identity, self-esteem, and resilience among participants. We’re thrilled to report that every objective was not only met but exceeded.
Through a series of meticulously planned skills-based group workshops, participants engaged in activities designed to enhance these essential life skills.
Mentorship as a Catalyst:
A cornerstone of our project was the one-on-one mentorship sessions provided to each participant. These sessions were instrumental in broadening the girls’ mindsets, exposing them to industry professionals and expert knowledge. Witnessing the transformation in their aspirations and beliefs throughout these mentorship sessions was truly inspiring.
Feedback and Impact:
The feedback we received from participants spoke volumes.
They shared stories of newfound confidence, a stronger sense of self, and a deepened belief in their own potential. One participant remarked, “I never thought I could achieve so much until I had someone believe in me.”
